How the "Akademie für Neues Lernen" replaced five software tools with FuxamOne
Jael Hecht, CEO of Akademie für Neues Lernen, shares her experiences with Fuxam, describes the daily use of the software, and outlines her vision for a modern, up-to-date approach to Abitur preparation.

Akademie für Neues Lernen is a private educational institution specializing in Abitur preparation. (The Abitur is the final exam and diploma that qualifies students in Germany for university entrance, similar to A-levels in the UK or the high school diploma with college entrance exams in the US.) Its goal is to specifically prepare students for the Bavarian Abitur. The academy emphasizes self-responsibility and offers an alternative to the traditional school system. It is aimed at young people who, after the tenth grade, are looking for a new path to the Abitur. The team consists of around 30 freelance teachers who support approximately 50 students.

Initial Situation: Many Isolated software tools and Inefficient Processes
Before introducing Fuxam, the Akademie für Neues Lernen used various programs for different tasks. For example, there were separate tools for timetables, chats, submissions, video conferences, and document creation. However, this multitude of applications posed challenges for staff in their daily work: workflows were sometimes complex and cumbersome, communication could be further improved, and onboarding new colleagues required a significant amount of time.
Decision for Fuxam: Everything in One System
The search for a suitable learning management system began four years ago. Many alternatives were tested, from large, well-known providers to smaller ones. However, none of the solutions truly fit. Many programs were either too limited, too complicated, or too focused on traditional school routines. Fuxam stood out with its clear and easy-to-understand interface. It was especially important that administration and the learning platform were combined in a single piece of software. Another advantage was the ability to build the new structure in the background without disrupting ongoing operations. Compared to major providers, Fuxam was also attractively priced. The personal contact and support from the Fuxam team were also decisive factors.
Implementation and Use: Fast Transition and Intuitive Operation
The onboarding process went smoothly. An easy-to-understand introductory video and flexible calls made getting started simple.
“My fifteen-year-old brother understood the system immediately,” said Jael Hecht. "The transition from the old system to Fuxam was seamless and completed within a single working day."
Fuxam is used in many ways at the academy. Organization and structuring of lessons are now managed centrally through Fuxam. The academy operates on the principle of self-directed learning. Teaching units are created by the instructors, and students work through the content independently. Onboarding of new staff members also takes place via Fuxam. Teachers can create and maintain course structures themselves.
Impact and Results: More Efficiency, Less Stress
Clear improvements became apparent soon after the introduction of Fuxam. Time was saved during the onboarding of new staff. Communication between teachers, students, and administration has become simpler and more transparent overall.

Sources of error were reduced, as duplicate entries could be avoided. Everyday work has become noticeably easier, as there is no longer a need to switch between different programs.
Everything around us is shaped by constant change. In this emerging transformation, it is time to completely redefine education. This is the guiding principle of Akademie für Neues Lernen—and we are excited to digitize education together and implement new approaches.
