We spoke with Alexia Schmolling, Head of Operations & PMA Academy Lead at the People Mobility Alliance, about her experiences with Fuxam, the onboarding process, and daily work on the platform.

Decision-Making Process and Implementation

Since the PMA Academy was built from scratch, there were no existing systems or fragmented solutions that needed to be replaced. “The goal was to create a modern, flexible, and international learning platform,” reports Alexia Schmolling, Head of Operations & PMA Academy Lead. Fuxam was the first choice from the very beginning—other tools were not even considered. The biggest challenge was to find a solution that could flexibly adapt to the international, modular, and hybrid structure of the academy. “We needed a solution that integrates content, communication, and events—as seamlessly and scalable as possible,” Schmolling adds.

Trust in Fuxam was built primarily through close collaboration with the founding team, fast response times, and a great openness to feedback:

“Even during the decision-making phase, we felt that Fuxam truly understood our requirements as a growing learning platform and wanted to support us in the long term.”

Onboarding was, according to Schmolling, straightforward and personal:

“We had regular calls and short check-ins where our expectations and focus topics were addressed directly. The detailed onboarding call was particularly helpful, after which we were able to get started with Fuxam within just a few days.”

This enabled the PMA Academy to make a smooth transition to a future-proof digital learning platform.

Usage and Results

The PMA Academy has been using Fuxam as its central platform since November 2024 to deliver its online courses and certification programs for global mobility and HR professionals. In-house workshops for companies, training for AI enablement of HR, GM, and procurement functions, as well as specialized workshops for executives, are also organized via Fuxam. The all-in-one structure of the platform is especially important, as Alexia Schmolling emphasizes:

“With Fuxam, we have a solution that brings together courses, documents, and the entire examination system under one roof—this makes organization and delivery extremely efficient.”

The intuitive usability for instructors and participants, as well as the always-available support, are further advantages that make a real difference in everyday work. “All relevant information, webinar links, presentations, videos, and learning materials are bundled in one place for participants. This simplifies communication and ensures a clear structure,” says Schmolling. Participant management has also become much easier: the PMA Academy always has an overview of participants’ learning status and progress. Courses can be created and organized within a few hours.

User feedback has been consistently positive: the intuitive usability and clear structure of the platform are especially appreciated.

“Our feedback is always taken seriously and quickly implemented,” emphasizes Alexia Schmolling.
